We are, however, looking forward to Pope Francis’ upcoming encyclical on June 18, that will spell out for Catholics the very real problems with climate and pollution.

Ann;As you embark upon your much desreved and needed retreat to quiet your mind, marshal your strength, and stake out your plan, know these things:1) No one that I know has shown a clearer understanding and acceptance of the Will of God, regardless of the personal cost, than you have. For the sake of searching out and listening to the Will of God, take as much time as you need to take, go wherever you need to go, and do whatever you need to do.2) Your children and your husband are your greatest sources of strength here on earth, and you are theirs. For your sake and for theirs, do whatever you need to do.3) We are your friends, and we will support you in whatever strategy you decide. Not one of us can know what you are feeling, and you owe not one of us an explanation. You decide what you want to do, and we will help you make that happen, whatever it is. For your sake, not for ours, we will do whatever you want us to do.When you return, let us, your friends, become an extension of your plan. God is the coach, but you are the quarterback. You call the plays, and we will carry them out.I do not presume to speak for anyone but myself, and so my personal pledge to you is this: Ann, by the way you have lived your life, you have shown me a human face of God’s love.
